Kabale municipality town clerk Ms. Justin Barekye has warned the public against misuse of government projects/money.
She made this warning yesterday during the Kabale municipal council program budget conference presentation meeting at Kabale catholic social Centre Hall.
Justin stressed that the government has already deposited Parish Development Model money on most of the parish accounts and she has called upon the registered groups to get that money and use it responsibly.
She added that they will not tolerate any group that will misuse the money because strict laws have been set up and will be applied.
She added that in this financial year 2022/2023, the government has put more money into financing local governments, especially schools and hospitals.
Barekye added that she will work with heads of different departments in order to make sure that all civil servants do their work as directed by the government, saying that the government has been paying people who are not playing their roles and yet there are people out there willing to do the work perfectly.
Barekye has also warned people to stop encroaching wetlands saying that according to President Museveni’s directive, people should not carry out any activity in wetlands and she has promised that starting with next week, they will start arresting those who have encroached wetlands.
She has also assured all civil servants whose salaries were not increased during this financial year that the government is looking forward to working on their salaries, especially art teachers within the next financial year.
