KABALE MUSLIMS CONDEMN HOMOSEXUALITY, CORRUPTION DURING EID- AL-FITR MESSAGE

Muslims in Kabale District have used today’s celebrations of Eid Al-Fitr to pray for peace and economic stability, and condemned the homosexual and corruption practices that are on the rise in the country.

While delivering his sermon today at Kirigime Main Mosque in Kabale municipality, the Kabale District secretary for Zakkah Sheik Rashid Shabahurira asked the parents and caregivers to take a keen interest in nurturing and teaching their children against homosexual practices.

He further said that the practices are being imposed to African traditional societies to degrade and decay African norms and practices.

The Kirigime ward LCII chairperson Salim Hamis prayed for Ugandans to desist from all sorts of corruption citing the Iron Sheets saga that has taken rounds of discussion in the country.

Which in his opinion considers it shameful to have high government leaders involved in the diversion of iron sheets meant for vulnerable households in Karamoja.

Hajji Badru Biryomumisho said that he prayed for a continued fight against homosexual practices in Uganda which he said is against the Quran and Islamic faith.

He also prayed for concerted efforts towards stabilizing Uganda’s economic base which is currently struggling due to poor policy implementation.

The Kabale municipality Member of Parliament Dr Nickolas Kamara asked President Yoweri Museveni to avoid politicizing the bill.

He said that since the President has been advised adequately, the next step is for the Parliament to do some bit of changes as the president guided and for the bill to be assented to.

On Thursday, President Museveni congratulated the Members of Parliament for standing their ground against homosexuality and agreed to assent the Ant-homosexuality Bill 2023 into law once a few changes have been made by Parliament.
