KABALE POLICE CONFISCATES 35BODABODAS IN POWERFUL OPERATION

Police in Kabale District impounded 35 boda boda motocycles on Wednesday night 15^th may2019 during an operation to hunt for criminals who rob people during the night.

According to Kabale District Police Commander Brian Ampeire said that the operation followed several complaints from stakeholders that boda boda riders who park at the hangouts of Oceans bar, T & J club and Bombocha Street are robbing passengers during the night.

He also added that they found out that some sex sellers at the three
hangouts connive with boda boda riders who park there to steal both
passengers who board off buses late hours and customers from bars.

Ampeire noted that 35 impounded motorcycles are currently parked at Kabale Central police station and hoping that after scrutinizing the owners, it will help to weed out criminals.

“The Bombocha stage has been illegal therefore the boda boda riders should look for the gazetted stages” Ampeire said.

He adds that police fired live bullets during an operation after most of
the boda boda riders became aggressive to police officers under the
influence of marijuana.
