KABALE POLICE OFFICER DIES OF POISON

Police in Kabale are investigating circumstances under which a police officer was poisoned.
Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson identified the deceased as no. 53108pc Peter Habyarimana aged 37 years attached to Kabale FFU and resident of Kabale police barracks in Kabale district.
It’s alleged that the deceased had been on pass leave and he went back at his duty station at LC5 chairperson’s resident on Thursday 07/04/2022.
Maate said that upon reaching his duty station, a colleague PC Chellengat realized he was weak and the face had changed.
At night he started complaining of stomach pain and in the morning of 08/04/2022, he was rushed to Rushoroza hospital where he died from at about 21:00hrs.
On the 09/04/2022, the matter was reported to Kabale CPS by Asp Kisembo Henry the FFU zonal commander and homicide team swung into action, body was taken to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem and after which was taken to his home in Kisoro district for burial.
The case of suspected poisoning was registered at Kabale Central Police station under reference number CRB: 225/2022.
