KABALE PRIMARY TEACHER DROWNS IN LAKE BUNYONYI

The territorial police in Kabale District is investigating circumstances under which a primary teacher at Genesis Nursery and primary school drown in lake Bunyonyi
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson identified the deceased as Tr. Ochet Christopher aged 27years old a resident of Kwania district who has been teaching at Genesis Nursery and primary school Kekubo Kabale municipality for two years.
ASP Maate told our reporter that the incident happened yesterday 26/02/2023 at around 07:30am.
It is said that Ochet was signed out with some pupils at the school where he has been teaching for morning jogging to the lake Bunyonyi where he opted to swim of which he struggled to come out of the water and failed to make it to the shores of the lake.
Meanwhile a frantic hunt involving local divers and the Marine Police was since ongoing till today 27/02/2023 at around at 02:00pm when the body was recovered and retrieved from the water.
Maate said that this was after a joint team of the security leadership of both Kabale and Rubanda just left the Lake having addressed the market community on how to prevent water incidents and how they should freely work with the marine police to minimize on any type of complaint thereon.
The body has been taken to Kabale referral hospital for postmortem and upon which will be taken to Kwania the home district for burial
The Police Spokesperson notes that Case of death by drowning in lake Bunyonyi was registered at Kabale District under reference number SD 06/26/02/2023.
