KABALE RDC ACCUSES IGG OFFICE OF CORRUPTION, NEGLIGENCE
BY VANANSIO KAKOGOSO
IN KABALE—
The Resident district Commissioner Darius Nandinda has accused the
Inspector General of Government Kabale for not investigating and
issuing reports of cases reported to him.
Nandinda says that on 20th June 2014, he petitioned the Inspector
General of Government (IGG) to investigate alleged inflation of the
bills of quantities for the renovation of district Rukiiko hall.
Kabale district local government had signed a contract with Kabale
joiners and Contractors Company limited to renovate the Rukiiko hall
at 44,238,826 shillings.
He claimed that the square meter of tiles was valued at 35,000
Shillings but the procurement had been put at 150, 000 Shillings.
However Nandinda claims that since they logged the compliant to the
office of the IGG, he has never received the report of the findings.
Nandinda wants the IGG to explain why the complaints logged to his
office are delayed.
The Inspector General of Government Kabale Sam Agaba however says that
the case investigated and a report was issued. He says that the report
was released on 16th April 2015 after they found no evidence obtained
by the investigations.
He however adds that they had sent the copy of the report to the RDC
shortly after investigating the matter.
In April this year, Chief Justice Bart Katureebe criticized the
Inspector General of Government (IGG) on account of not prosecuting
magistrates caught red-handed in acts of corruption
