KABALE RDC BLASTS FR. GAETANO FOR MISLEADING PUBLIC ON UGX 165 M GIVEN TO DISTRICT COVID 19 TASK FORCE

The Kabale district Covid 19 task force led by district resident commissioner have accused the chairperson for Inter- Religious Council in Kigezi, Fr. Getano Batanyenda for misleading the public.
According tothe task force, Fr Gaetano channeled announcements on media houses alerting the public on the allocation of 165 millions received by each district to fight covid19.
Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development released Shillings 165 million to districts to intensify the campaign against the COVID-19 pandemic.
It followed the approval of a supplementary budget of Shillings 304 billion by parliament last week to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Our reporter has learnt that the Finance Ministry has disbursed Shillings 165 million to each district to intensify the campaign against the spread of coronavirus.
However, Kabale district covid 19 task force chairperson who doubles as the district resident commisioner Darius Nandinda said that Fr.Gaetano has started confusing the public to open the eyes about this tune of money which was allocated to kabale district.
While speaking in the kabale district covid 19 task force meeting convened at Kabale national teachers training Kabale,Nandinda blasted Fr. Gaetano that the district will use the money according to the guidelines issued by ministry of healthy and local government.
Nandinda also appealed to the public not be confused by the Reverend father who claims that the district officials have been receiving lots of money even exceeding 165 million hence the district task force should distribute it accordingly .
He also accused Fr. Gaetano over misleading and diverting the public about covid 19 fight.
When contacted on the matter ,the chairperson for Inter- Religious Council in Kigezi, Fr. Getano Batanyenda told our reporter that this shows the greedy and weakness among the district covid19 task force members because he was just informing the public about government programs .
Gaetano also appealed to the district covid 19 task force to use the money efficiently without corruption and later wondered why they are suspicious .
