KABALE RDC BOYCOTTS FUNCTION OVER ‘ENEMY’ JOURNALISTS’ PRESENCE

The Kabale Resident District Commissioner Darius Nandinda yesterday boycotted commissioning of the Kigongi Bataka Community led water, sanitation and community hall project allegedly due to the presence of a section of Journalists who petitioned the President’s office over his continued media harassment.
Nandinda who was expected to be the chief guest at the function of the commissioning the project, an initiative of Kigongi Bataka Tuyambane Group, a slum dweller saving group, never turned up.
It is alleged that Nandinda who had previously confirmed to the organizers of the function that he would be the chief guest later changed his mind after his spy team told him that almost all the Journalists who petitioned the President over his alleged media harassment were present at the function.
According to a close source to the RDC whose names were withheld not to put his job at risk, Nandinda said that he could not allow himself to attend a function where Anthony Kushaba, Richard Akandwanaho, Sam Amanya, Job Amanya and Uziah Tusasire who he termed as “his enemies” were present.
Source also said that Nandinda claimed that the presence of the above journalists at the function was a stage-managed move aimed at humiliating him at the function especially if his time of speech came.
Efforts to get a comment from the RDC were futile as his phone could not be reached.
