The Kabale Resident District Commissioner Darius Nandinda is on spot again for promoting divisionism among National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters in Ndorwa West Constituency in Kabale district.
This comes after RDC Nandinda who was addressing NRM subcounty registrars publically said he would be compromised if the State Minister of Finance in charge of planning David Bahati lost the forthcoming NRM-Party election.
He also ordered all the registrars to use their positions and make sure Bahati goes back to Parliament.
However, this angered a section of National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters in Ndorwa West Constituency who accuse the RDC of spearheading divisionism within the party members instead of uniting them as one family.
The supporters also accuse Nandinda of being corrupt and segregative as he implements party programs.
Deogratius Kamugisha a resident of Kinyamari in Butanda Sub County Kabale district, an NRM supporter said he was shocked that the RDC who should be neutral has started siding with a few NRM supporters, neglecting other party diehards.
Kamugisha who claims that Nandinda of recently been working as the Political Assistant of Minister Bahati vows to organize residents against the Presidential election since his representative only works for Minister Bahati.
Simpson Mpirirwe who is one of those eyeing the seat currently held by Minister Bahati said the RDC’s actions are not only a misfortune to the party members in Ndorwa West but also to the entire NRM family.
He said that the RDC’s words are a direct intimidation to the voters in the area an act that must not be tolerated thus asked the President as the party’s Chairman to intervene for the harmony of the party members in the area.
Several people including Simpson Mpirirwe his former chief campaigner, Nicholas Arinaitwe, Dr Gideon Rukundo Rugari and Mark Kworoba Mashemererwa have already expressed interest to unseat Bahati in the forthcoming NRM primary elections.
