The Kabale Resident District Commissioner Mr. Godfrey Nyakahuma has threatened to close scrap businesses within the district over increased cases of vandalism
The warning was sounded by Mr Mutabazi Ruben, the Kabale District Internal Security officer who represented the RDC at a stakeholder’s engagement between the Kabale Municipal and Central Division leaders at the Division Headquarters in Kigongi Kabale Municipality.
RDC’s warning came after residents raised concern over the rampant insecurity in their area
Karani Mercy, Turinawe Wilson and Charles Bisati who are LC1 chairpersons of Makanga cell in Butobere ward and Kanyakiriro cell Nyabikoni ward respectively say that marijuana smokers and the thieves in their area are giving them sleepless nights.
The thieves target sauce pans which they sell to scrap-dealers

Arinaitwe said that the prevailing insecurity has been brought about by poverty resulting from the covid 19 Lock down
The Kabale District DISO Mr Mutabazi Ruben was concerned about criminals vandalizing security lights.
He added that scrap businesses need to be banned for a period of three month if they are to create peace and harmony among the society.
