Uganda Red Cross Society Kabale branch has launched a mobile cinema campaign to sensitise the public on how to prevent Ebola outbreak in the district, under the Community Epidemic and Pandemic preparedness program (CP3).
The Community Epidemic and Pandemic preparedness program is a project being implemented by Uganda Red Cross Society, aimed at strengthening the ability of communities and civil society groups in nine target countries including Uganda to prevent, detect and respond to disease threats and play a central and significant role in preparing for future risks.
The programs officer in charge of Uganda Red cross society Kabale Branch, Jacob Okello told www.mknewslink.com last evening at their offices in Mwanjari ward Southern Division in Kabale Municipality that they intend to sensitize the public on how to prevent Ebola following its outbreak in the neighboring Country Democratic Republic of Congo where over 200 have already died.
Jacob said that they have discovered that Ebola outbreak spread rapidly because people dont know measures on how to identify and prevent it.
He added that in conjunction with Kabale District local government, they hope to sensitize the public through films on how to prevent Ebola in case of outbreak in the area.
