KABALE REGIONAL REFERRAL HOSPITAL PATIENTS DECRY POOR SERVICE DELIVERY

Expectant mothers at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital in Kabale district are protesting poor service delivery during night hours.
Meanwhile, the poor service delivery has left hundreds of patients channel away from Kabale Regional Referral Hospital to other sister healthy facilities.
The hospital receives an average of 230 patient’s every day but ever since 24th Apr 2020 when a Positive kenyan Truck Driver was admitted at hospital, service delivery was paralyzed .
However, expectant patients who have been referred to the regional hospital this week are accusing the hospital staffs for ignoring them especially those who work night shifts.
Twineobusigye Dianna, a resident of Mukibukura village northern division Kabale municipality says that on 25th April 2020 at 10:10 pm when they reached at Kabale regional hospital together with an expectant mother, they waited for about 5hours without any assistance from the hospital.
After all this long waiting, they called a tax to take them to Rugarama hospital where the patient was saved .
She however says that they were shocked to reach at the hospital and find no one at the reception to receive and direct patients.
Edison Muhereza, another concerned hospital user from Kabale municipality, accuses the hospital authorities for being reluctant in this crisis of covid 19.
He wants Hospital top authorities to investigate the carelessness and the absentism of nurses especially during night hours
However, Muhereza also accuses the Kabale district corona virus task force for not responding to patient’s calls when they are in need of help .
Mean while ,when contacted on the matter ,Sofie Namasopo the Kabale regional refferal hospital director refuted the allegations saying that its not true because services are being rendered as usual to all patients.
