KABALE RESIDENTS GO HOME CURSING MUHOOZI RUKUNDO EGUMEHO THANKSGIVING FOR NOT BENEFITING THE LOCALS BUT KAMPALA PEOPLE

Sarah Ainembabanzi a retail shop operator Kibikura cell near where the Rukundo Egumeho Thanksgiving was held said that she had shopped rice, posho and crates of beer hoping to get money from Thanksgiving but was shocked to see them bring huge Lorries full of bear and food staff.

She added that she had shopped materials worth 1m hoping to get more profit and that worst of all those who constructed the tents at the playground were also from Buganda and so the public address system (Balaam sounds).

“Those who were vending Gen Muhoozi cards along the Rugarama road were also Baganda ” she added.

She called upon event organizers to always prioritize the local people to benefit.

Ahumuza Alex a bodaboda rider at Kigongi stage said that he thought he would drive in the Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba convoy and get paid but was shocked to see them come with Kampala based boda boda riders.

“The Kampala boda boda riders were chasing us not to come closer to the convoy despite Thanksgiving being held in the Kigezi sub region.

Shira Ahimbisibwe a hotel operator in Rwakaraba said that the members on the organizing committee whom she preferred anonymity said that they had promised her to be among the service providers but was also shocked to see the ladies dressed up in Muhoozi T-shirts providing all the services.
