KABALE SCHOOL,HEALTH CENTER DESTROYED BY STORM

A strong hailstorm yesterday destroyed Bwama Primary School and Bwama Health center III in Kitumba Sub County on Bwama highland at Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale District.
According to Epaphras Besigensi, the Deputy Head teacher Bwama primary school, the incident occurred yesterday at around 3:00pm during a heavy downpour, which lasted for about 3 hours.
He said that the rain blew off the roof top of a three classroom block at the school which hosts P5 class.
Besigensi noted that he is worried on where the pupils will study from next term if there is no urgent intervention.
He revealed that fortunately no injuries were recorded since all pupils had already gone for third term holiday.
In charge Bwama Health Center III Edward Arinaitwe said that two houses that accommodate health workers and two solar panels were destroyed.
He added that the health workers who were staying in the house have shifted to maternity ward and out patients department room which is likely to bring congestion.
Arinaitwe is calling for an urgent intervention from district leadership.
The Kabale District Secretary for Education, health and community based services Johnson Baguma said that they are aware of the incident and they will visit the school and health facility tomorrow to witness the magnitude of what was destroyed.
In October, the hailstorm also destroyed Karengyere primary school which left a block that hosted P3 class, library and office destroyed.
