KABALE: TWO POLICE OFFICERS IN TROUBLE OVER SELF DEPLOYMENT, MALICIOUS DAMAGE

Kabale security operatives have launched investigations to identify two police officers who on Tuesday allegedly accompanied a section of over twenty thugs to attack and maliciously damage the gardens of Scovia Beitigita aged 74 yrs old resident of Kanyankwanzi cell Bukora parish Kitumba sub county Kabale district.
According to Beitigita and her son Frank Ntegyereze, a group of twenty assailants protected by the two law enforcement officers dressed in field force police (FFP) uniform army with guns, on Tuesday morning uprooted Beitigata’s two hectares of beans and maize and 1.5 hectares of sweet potatoes located in Kanyankwazi cell.
Beitigita suspected that the police officers and a yet to be identified thugs could have been brought by her former husband Geofry Ntegire whom they separated 8 years back since he was with officers and recently he wanted to sale off the land without any inquiry.
David Muhereza Kitumba sub county speaker also a resident of Kanyankwanzi cell said that when they tried to inquire from police officers, they threatened to shot them dead which forced them to run away and report a case to the police.
Muhereza identified one of police officers as Ahereza of field force police attached to Kabale district central police station.
However ,the Kabale District Police Commander Brian Ampeire stressed that none of security staff had been deployed in the area for above matter .
He revealed that the case of malicious damage of property was registered under reference number 58/14/2/2020 at Kabale police station as the hunt for the yet to be known officers commence.
Ampeire added that after identifying the officers, they shall be arrested, detained for disrespectful behavior and self deployment and taken to court on charges of malicious damage.
He also noted that police are also hunting for Betigita’s husband Ntegire to help them to trace the police officers.
