KABALE UNATU ELECTS NEW OFFICE BEARERS

Teachers in kabale municipality under their umbrella body, Uganda National Teachers Union (UNATU) have today elected new office bearers.
Beinomugisha Geoffrey a primary school head teacher at Hornby junior primary in kabale municipality kabale district has retained his seat as the chairperson after being nominated unopposed by the teachers.
Beinomugisha in his new term as a chairperson pledged work pledged to work hard and bridge the gap between the government and the teachers in order to see their lower wages increased.
He also pledged to work with teachers to better the performance of pupils especially in public schools that has been widely criticized.
Whereas mrs.Tindimwebwa Allen won a hotly contested race for the secretary for disputes and welfare after garnering 21polls defeating the incumbent Sunday Ruth who garnered 19polls.
Among other unopposed candidates were: Mayanja henry (vice chairperson), Musimenta Rita (Treasurer), Saturday Crescent (secretary), Musimiire patience (Secretary for women affairs), Musimenta Godwin Dorah (Secretary for education, professional standards and discipline) and Kayabuuki Bartholomew (Secretary for planning and organizing).
