IN KABALE—-
Lectures at Kabale University under their umbrella, Kabale University
Academic Staff Association – have petitioned the chairman university
council over their job insecurity and transition crisis.
According to the petition which www.mknewslink.com senior reporter has a copy of dated
07th this month and signed by 36 lectures addressed to the chairman
university council, lectures claim that they have not been paid their
salaries and gratuity for the last five month.
In the petition, lectures also want an explanation to why most of them
have not been considered for the government payroll for the 2016/2017
financial year, yet they have been serving.
They also claim that they are tired of poor working conditions and
poor saniataion and accusing the top university officials for keeping
a deaf ear on their challenges. They also demand an immediate audit
into financial expenditure, staff welfare and academics at the
university.
They add that failure by the university to address their concerns,
they will seek a legal redress.
However, speaking to our reporter on phone last evening, the Kabale
University Council Chairperson, Hon .Manzi Tumubweine said that he has
not received any petition about the matters arising.
