KABALE UNIVERSITY MANUFACTURES DETERGENT IN EFFORT TO FIGHT COVID 19

Kabale University has today launched a detergent called Kabsafe liquid soap in order to use it in the preventing the spread of covid19 in the community.
Speaking today at the function of launching this detergent at Kabale University premises, Dr. Damian Kajunguri the Dean faculty of science under department of chemistry said that over 7000litres of Kabsafe have been made as a community intervention initiative of Kabale University towards fighting COVID19 pandemic.
The Kabale university vice chancellor Prof. Joy Kwesiga applauded the science department upon coming up with such an initiative which she said, has boosted the development of the university.
Prof. Kwesiga added that the detergent shall be distributed in various districts in Kigezi sub region like Kabale, Kanungu, Kisoro, Rukungiri, Rubanda and Rukiga and most importantly they shall also extend the service to the neighboring villages.
However, she stressed that as a university they have a problem of not having a learning hospital in the university and also lack a high class laboratory which have hindered their performance in the science department.
She therefore called upon the government stakeholders to consider them and have these constructed.
Miria Tugume the Kabale district vice chairperson who was the guest of honor congratulated the Kabale university science faculty upon having completed their detergent which she said has come in right time where Kabale has been highlighted in the hotspot district for the coming 3rd wave of covid19.
Miria also asked the entire people to observe the Standard Operating Procedures saying COVID has hit the Kigezi community.
