KABAROLE APPROVES 239.9M UWEP PROJECTS

Kabarole District has approved shs239.9m for Uganda Women
Entrepreneurship Program projects for the second quarter in the financial year 2017/2018

Diana Kobusinge the District coordinator UWEP says in the 2nd quarter,40 women groups with good projects will benefit from the 239.9m shs grant.
She explains that the approved groups submitted in their proposals and were assessed and approved by the sub county officials and the sub-county women council.
This was during the Top District Technical Planning meeting held at district.
Mirriam Kakurugusi the District women council chairperson observed a big gap in the mobilization of the youth and women groups towards accessing the UWEP funds and appealed to the technocrats at the sub county to work closely with the politicians in identifying the beneficiaries.
Dunstan Balaba; the Chief Administrative Officer says the involvement of all the stakeholders including the Community Development Officers,
sub county and parish chiefs, women council chairpersons and LC3 chairpersons help in identifying the legible groups.

He also observed the need for serious mobilization and awareness creation about the UWEP funds and the enterprise selection for the success of the program.
