KABAROLE: KIGUMA SUB COUNTY AUTHORITIES BAN COOKING AT FUNERALS TO AVOID SPREAD OF COVID 19

By Musa Polite www.mknewslink.com In Kabarole— As COVID 19 Cases continue to increase in Kabarole district, Fort Portal city and Uganda at large, the former Kiguma Subcounty community in North Division Fort portal city has suspended cooking on funerals to curb down the spread of the virus. According to Kiiza Patrick the LCII Chairperson Kiguma, Considering the long lines and body contact that always happen on food tables at burials and other ceremonies in villages, suspending cooking will help prevent the spread. Kiiza added that the resolution was reached in a meeting that was attended by all the 17 Local Council chairpersons of the former Kiguma Subcounty and will start operating with immediate effect until Covid-19 is managed. By Thursday Last week, Kabarole district had registered 179 COVID 19 Cases and six deaths in one month of December, raising concerns among the leaders and communities about how to contain the further spread of the virus. |
