Kabarole district has registered 42 new COVID-19 cases within two months of August and September this year causing panic among the district taskforce.
Kabarole Resident District Commissioner Ms. Ayesiga Sarah Julian said that they are worried the virus is again on the rise spreading like fire in communities because the people have relaxed on the observation of SOPs.
She has named the communities where cases of COVID are common as Lyantonde in Rutete sub-county, Kasenda, Karangura, Hakibale and Kaswa.
The RDC said many people have acquired the virus from points of gathering like pork joints and bars where they lock themselves.
Ayesiga however said that they have strengthened home based care team and continued working with VHTs to identify people in communities that have symptoms of COVID-19.
She advised the people to observe the SOPs and avoid the gatherings as one way of fighting the spread of the virus.
