KABAROLE RESIDENTS ACCUSE LEADERS OF GRABBING HEALTH CENTRE LAND

Angry residents and local leaders of Ruteete sub county, Kabarole district are accusing the former sub county leaders of grabbing the land belonging to Ruteete Health Center III during their term of office.
The accused are Bagonza Peter and Mrs. Banserura Topista former member of the Health Centre Management Committee.
The others who include Baguma Holimicidius Spear, former LC3 chairperson Ruteete , Bonabana Margaret, Baguma Peter and Nyamicumi had grabbed chunks of the facility land but later handed it over after evidence pinned them in LCII,LCIII and land tribunal courts.
The district leaders comprising the district chairperson Rwabuhinga Richard, RDC Stephen Asiimwe , DPC Musa Tibakirana and DISO Edmond Kamanyire rushed to Ruteete Health Centre III for a security meeting to assess the situation but were shocked to hear from the locals that the former leaders are behind the grabbing of the facility land.
Kagaba Joshua former LC1&Chairperson Management Committee Ruteete HCIII says that after the promulgation of 1995 constitution, leaders and the residents agreed that to avoid land conflicts the Bonafide residents who had occupied the facility land stay on where they had cultivated and leave the rest of the land they had not occupied to the sub county.
He however explains that people used the opportunity of the then weak sub county leaders and the conflict of interest by the former chairperson LC3 and his executive.
LCIII Chairman Mugabe Deo told the leaders that his life is in danger following his demand to the grabbers to release the said land adding that recently unidentified assailants armed with pangas, covering themselves with masks had plotted to kill him but was rescued by people who had accompanied him home.
RDC Asiimwe advised all the leaders threatened with messages to report to police and commended the residents for being brave enough to fight for their services.
