KABAROLE RESIDENTS APPLAUD MUSEVENI FOR FIRING GEN.KAYIHURA, TUMUKUNDE

Following the firing of the Inspector General of police and security
minister Hennery Tumukunde yesterday, residents in fort portal town Kabarole district have applauded president Museven for taking needful action.
Gen. Kayihura has been replaced by his deputy Okoth Ochola while
Minister Tumukunde was replaced by the former Army commander; Gen. Ely Tumwine.
Kayihura has been the IGP since 2005 when he replaced the now works
Junior minister Katumba Wamala, while Tumukude was appointed security minister in 2016.
Speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview, Jack
Magezi said that the president what he did was right for saving Ugandans.
Magezi stated that the rate at which the crime rate is escalating in
the country, Kayihura deserved to be sacked. He further said that
president Museven should punish Kayihura for his incompetence to fight crimes.
Prosper Businge; a resident of West division in Fort portal municipality
said that Kayihura and Tumukunde’s dismissal came at the right time when national security had started rotting.
He noted that the two Generals had turned the security institutions into
politics and their homes, forgetting that security is the main pillar
of the country.
Businge added that president Museven has overstayed in power due to the steady security thus the two had started tarnishing his name.
He disclosed that its time now for president to sweep all
security agencies in the country if security is to come back to
normal.
