KABINDI SECONDARY SCHOOL GIRLS BANNED IN COPA COCACOLA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Kigezi region secondary sports organizing committee has banned Kabindi
secondary school girl’s football team from Kisoro district for one
year from participating in regions football competitions over
indiscipline.
In a letter dated 17th April 2018, signed by the committee Chairperson
Edwin Babimpa Nuwagaba,indicated that Kabindi was banned due to the team’s disruption of the regional tournament that were recently concluded in Kisoro district.
According to Nuwagaba, the team refused to adhere to the referee’s
decision and refused to resume the match after conceding a goal in a
match they were playing with Kihihi high school from Kanungu district.
Nuwagaba says that after they had been kicked out of the tournament
they went ahead to block the play of the semi finals by sitting in the
field of play which contravenes article 10 of the rules and regulations that govern football in secondary schools and Federationsof Uganda Football Association-FUFA.
Nuwagaba also said that the school games teacher Steven Tushime
has been banned from managing football related activities for one year
for inciting violence and ordering players not to continue with the
game contrally to article 14 subsections D of the rules and
regulations that govern football in the country.
