CRIMINAL SUMMONS ISSUED AGAINST KABWOHE HEALTH CENTRE IV IN CHARGE FOR ASSAULTING A JOURNALIST

Chief magistrates court in Bushenyi has today issued criminal summons to the in charge Kabwohe Health Centre IV Dr. Asiimwe Davis, to answer to charges of assault.
Court presided over by her worship Jane Mugarura heard that late last year; Dr.Asiimwe while at Kabwohe HC IV assaulted a TV west journalist Sheik Abduratif who had gone to the health centre to investigate circumstances under which an HIV negative woman was put on ARV drugs.
Prosecutions stated that when Asiimwe discovered this, he attacked Sheik, damaging his property that included a video camera and other gadgets.
The doctor pleaded not guilty to the offences, was bailed but has since then not been attending court as required.
The case was adjourned to 16th October 2018.
