IN SHEEMA—-
Police in Sheema district have arrested the acting town clerk of Kabwohe-Itendero town council Annet Natukunda for stealing 23 iron bars meant for the construction of town council’s headquarters.
According to sheema district chairman Canon David Kabigumira, he heard about the incident but said the CAO is working on it and will give him a report.
Town clerk Nutukunda was arrested on Friday but was later released after pleading with the police and accepted to bring back the iron bars but to their surprise she brought small ones compared to the ones she had taken.
Some of staff who preferred not to be named told www.mknewslink.com editor today that the iron bars taken by their boss were supposed to construct town council headquarters but instead she took them to her personal building site.
Following the incident, the CAO sheema district has demoted Natukunda and sent her to kyangyenyi sub-county according to a transfer letter seen by www.mknewslink.com editor.
Natukunda had replaced Betega David who was promoted to the post of Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.
She was interdicted two years ago while working as sub-county chief of Kagango sub-county as a sub-county chief but was later cleared and resumed her office.
In her career in Bushenyi local government and later Sheema district and acting town clerk, Natukunda is well known for not fearing government money and resources.
