The chief administrative officer Kagadi, Malik Mahaba has ordered police to arrest 16 head teachers of government aided primary schools who were interdicted and refused to vacate offices.
Las month, the chief administrative officer suspended 16 head teachers over misconduct, fraud and abuse of office contrary to government of Uganda standing orders.
Other fifteen head teachers were summoned to face the disciplinary committee after paying back the registration fees of private schools which they had reportedly cheated.
According to the chief administrative officer Kagadi, the affected head teachers, during the verification exercise last year, their schools registered non universal primary education-UPE pupils as UPE candidates with an intention of avoiding payment of registration for private Candidates.
This forced UNEB to withhold results for 31 Government aided primary Schools with the UNEB seating Centers, pending investigation.
Mahaba said apart from flouting procedures, this is an offence chargeable in anti-corruption court.
He suspended 16 head teachers from office until investigations in this matter are complete.
He also instructed the principal human resource officer to pay the interdicted head teachers half salary with effect from February 2019 until the charges are dropped.
However, speaking during a district technical planning committee meeting yesterday at Mpeefu Sub County headquarters in Kagadi district, Mahaba revealed that the interdicted head teachers have refused to vacate offices.
He said that he has written to police asking them to arrest any headteacher that refuses to handover office to the new officer assigned to caretake the school affairs.
