KAGADI CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER SUSPENDS 16 HEAD TEACHERS OVER ALLEGED MISCONDUCT, FRAUD AND ABUSE OF OFFICE

Sixteen head teachers of government aided primary schools in Kagadi district have been suspended on charges of misconduct, fraud and abuse of office contrary to government of Uganda standing orders.
This is because they refused to refund the money in order to have results released.
Fifteen Other head teachers of government aided Primary Schools who refunded the registration fees, have been also summoned to face the District disciplinary sanctions and reward committee on allegations of fraud, abuse of office contrary to government of Uganda standing orders.
According to the office of the chief administrative officer Kagadi, the affected head teachers, during the verification exercise last year , their schools registered non-universal primary education-UPE pupils as UPE candidates with an intention of avoiding payment of registration for private Candidates.
This forced UNEB to withhold results for 31 Government aided primary Schools with the UNEB seating Centers, pending investigation.
According to a letter signed by the chief executive officer Kagadi, Malik Mahaba, this kind of habit tantamount to fraud having flouted procedures clearly communicated in clause 11 of the UNEB guidelines which makes it criminal for an officer to hide non-UPE pupils as UPE Candidates.
Mahabba says apart from flouting procedures, this is an offence chargeable in anti-corruption court.
He confirms that 16 head teachers have been interdicted from office until investigations in this matter are complete.
Mahabba has also instructed the principal human resource officer to pay the interdicted head teachers half salary in line with section (F-S), subsection D , with effect from February 2019 until the charges are dropped.
The interdicted head teachers are from Schools of Kyeya, Rugashari, Mpamba, Bukungwe, Kyaterekera SDA, Kijonjomi, Bwikara Parents, Kyaicumu,Kigoma, Mabaale, Burwara, Kabamba, Muhorro BCS and Nyambeho governmant P/s.
Those who refunded the money and have been summoned to face the District disciplinary sanctions and reward committee, are from Schools of Mizizi, Burora, Kasoga, Kitebere,Kinaba,Rwabaranga, Rutooma, Mambugu, Muhorro Muslim Maberenga, Kahunde, Kyomunembe, St Peters, Kihemba and Nyanseke government Pls.
