KAGADI FISHERMAN HELD BY POLICE OVER COLLEAGUE’S DEATH

Police in Kagadi district are holding a fisherman in his 30s in connection to the death of a 25-year-old colleague who allegedly drowned in Lake Albert at Nguuse landing site in Kagadi district.
The suspect is Nicholas Alinaitwe, a fisherman at Nguse landing site in Kagadi district while the missing person is only identified as God, a resident of Rubirizi village in Mpeefu sub-county Kagadi district.
It is alleged that the duo went fishing together on Sunday but latter never returned.
On Tuesday, Alinaitwe was tasked to explain the whereabouts of his colleague. He told them that the deceased had drowned in the lake.
The residents were shocked after Alinaitwe told them that the deceased had drowned in the lake after the boat they were sailing in capsized.
Residents notified police that picked up the suspect. Alinaitwe is now detained at Kitebere police station as investigations into the matter are ongoing.
