A severe water crisis has hit Kagadi general hospital in Kagadi district leaving health workers, patients, and their attendants stranded without any source of clean water.
The crisis started last weekend following the breakdown of the water system.
Some of the attendants, who spoke to www.mknewslink.com said that the situation is alarming because a Jerycan of water costs around 300 shillings in Kagadi town.
The medical Superintendent of Kagadi general Hospital, Dr. Isaac Kakibogo says that the most affected departments are the theatre, Maternity ward and surgeon wards where some services have been suspended.
However, Dr. Kakibogo told www.mknewslink.com that he reported the matter to the district health department and the health ministry long ago but has not got response yet.
Dr.Kakibogo adds that the hospitals budget of 13 m shillings is too small to run the set activities yet the hospital serves a wider coverage.
