Jafali Basajjabalaba; the LCV chairman Bushenyi district has vowed that his main challenger in the 2016 general elections; Paul Kahiigi must be arrested and imprisoned or else pay Ug.sh.200,000,000 as costs and damages arise from the court case.
FDC’S Kahiigi who was an LCV chairman candidate in 2016 general elections lost to NRM’s Jafali Basajjabalaba with 44% votes.

However, Kahiigi was not satisfied with the election results thus challenging Jafali Basajjabalaba’s victory on ground that the vote was marred by malpractices ranging from rigging to bribery.
After losing the electoral petition in Mbarara High court, Kahiigi appealed to the court of Appeal where he also lost the case with costs.
Shortly after presiding over the 5th Graduation ceremony for IPM at St.Kagwa in Bushenyi on Saturday, Jafali Basajjabalaba told the www.mknewslink.com managing editor that Mr.Kahiigi must be imprisoned if he cannot pay the court case costs amounting to Ug.sh. 200,000,000.
However, when contacted for a comment, Kahiigi vowed not to pay even a single coin out of the Ug.sh.200, 000,000 that stemmed from the court case he lost to Basajjabalaba.
Mean while Kahiigi’s supporters have vowed to fundraise for him in order to rescue him from being imprisoned.
One of Kahiigi’s supporters who preferred anonymity told www.mknewslink.com that they are ready to collect over Ug.sh.250, 000,000 from sympathizers in a bid to save their colleague from being imprisoned.
He further said that even if each of Kahiigi’s supporters contributes Ug.sh.10, 000 they will still collect over Ug.sh.200, 000,000 and rescue their colleague.
Kahiigi had over 25,000 supporters who voted him during the 2016 general elections.
