The censored chairman LC5 Mitooma district Benon Karyeija has said that the minister of East African affairs Maj. Gen Kahinda Otafiire should stop calling elected leaders cats.
While speaking to www.mknewslink.com editor in a telephone interview, Karyeija said that minister Kahinda calls the Ruhinda county legislator Capt. Donozio Kahonda and chairman Karyeija cats yet people entrusted them with powers and refers to himself as a lion.
Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire was transferred from the ministry of justice and constitutional affairs in the recent cabinet and state ministers reshuffle.
Karyeija added that when Kahinda was transferred from the ministry of justice and constitutional affairs people in Mitooma celebrated by drinking all night and slaughtering animals because he was using the ministry to punish his opponents.
He noted that Kahinda Otafiire once said that Karyeija and Kahonda will never get justice as long as he is still the minister of justice and constitutional affairs.
Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire lost NRM primary elections in 2015 to Capt. Donozio Kahonda who was being detained in Kirirya Jinja prison on allegations of having fake academic documents and he was released immediately after winning.
Karyeija was censored by Mitooma councilors and the case is still in court pending judgment.
Last month the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga assured people of Mitooma on Capt. Donozio Kahondas thanks giving that she will intervene into Karyeija’s issues and look for the way of resolving them.
Trying to reach Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire was futile as he was not picking our repeated calls.
