The Bushenyi District Education Officer Saul Rwampororo has warned teachers at Kakanju Vocational secondary school who demand for money without doing their respective work to probably pack and go while it is still early
Rwampororo was today 8th Feb.2020 speaking during a special Stake holders meeting aimed at getting resolution on how to bring back the lost glory of Kakanju Vocational Secondary school .
He further noted that those who are harassing and chasing away the head teacher Naboth Mitsindo should know that Mitsindo is longer a head teacher of Kakanju Voc. School since he should have retired sometime back.
Mitsindo whom parents blamed for the failure of their children attributed the school’s poor performance to inadequate equipment in science laboratory following fire outbreak which left most of the equipment destroyed.
He also blamed the failures on indiscipline among teachers and students citing out a scenario where two of their staff fought.
Mitsindo noted that the school also performed poorly in UCE last year because some of the time was wasted during the teachers’ sit down strike which took place in second term.
According to the government report given by the Bushenyi Resident District commissioner Mr. Jolly Tibemanya who was the chairperson of the meeting, the head teacher should handover to his deputy before 14th Feb 2020.
He advised that each class should get a class representative to keep a book so that teachers sign every after lesson such that whenever they are demanding for allowances, they will have where to refer to.
The RDC formed a procurement committee headed by Muhanguzi Elidad to investigate about the school’s lost funds with the aid of the assistant DEO, assistant CAO and PTA chairman then report back within one month.
