Kampala International University Teaching hospital has organised a 2 days medical camp at Katerera Health Centre III in Rubirizi district.
The camp which started yesterday under the theme “scaling up the heights towards the global health agenda by harnessing existing health intervention to secure healthier communities” will end today.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com in an interview, Dr. Moses Jumba who is heading the campaign said that the medical camp has been happening every year but in different parts of Uganda.
He noted that this time they decided to bring it to Rubirizi as a part of corporate social responsibility whereby what they need most is to provide healthcare to people.
He added that Katerera isn’t the first and last hospital for them to go to because this medical camp is supposed take place every after 3 quarters with financial support from KIU hospital and other well wishers.
The chairman management Byaruhanga Evaristo requested government to upgrade their health facility from health center III to IV so that people don’t have to travel long distance looking for these services..
Byaruhanga asked the government to also provide their hospital with enough workers because the number of patients is always high compared to the health workers available
He noted that they need a solar system because electric power isn’t always on 24/7 which paralyzes work most of the times.
