The embattled Isingiro district boss Birungi Jeremiah Kamulari who lost the just concluded Bukanga North parliamentary race to NRM’s Nathan Byanyima has vowed to challenge the results in the court of laws.
Kamulari addressing journalists at Little woods Inn in Mbarara city yesterday, noted that his legal team is currently collecting evidence to challenge the results in the courts of law.
He cited irregularities that marred the Bukanga North parliamentary polls ranging from arresting him, voter bribery, pre-ticking of ballot papers, and intimidation by security operatives among others.
“I was arrested and taken to Isingiro Central Police Station after intercepting the agents of my opponent Nathan Byanyima who were bribing voters with money at Kyakabindi polling station” Kamulari lamented.
Kamulari also accused the minister for Animal Husbandry Hon. Bright Rwamirama of facilitating the deployment of heavy security in Bukanga North which caused intimidation to his voters plus gearing for his arrest which was illegal.
Meanwhile, Minister Rwamirama speaking on TV west last night rubbished Kamulari’s claims saying that he obstructed polling exercise in Bukanga North thus the security had to arrest him.
“Kamulari should accept defeat and stop spreading propaganda in the media,” Minister Rwamirama added.
