The bishop of Kinkiizi diocese Rt Rev Dan Zoreeka has rebuked the Ugandan police for beating the supporters of opposition.
Zoreeka while talking to Christians who had turned up for Sunday services today at St Peters Cathedral Nyakantale asked security personal to guard Ugandans instead of punishing them for supporting opposition.
He said he supports this NRM government but, he doesn’t support the undermining of human rights.
He further asked Christians to guard environment and eliminate using the polyethen bags which are destroying environment at high speed.
Zoreeka wondered why government has kept deaf on the polyethene bags and the reclamation of swamps for farming and other activities in the low lands which has led environment changes.
Meanwhile the diocesan secretary Can Benard Bagaba has asked Christians to seek guidance from God. Bagaba said that God can’t come nearer to us when we are in wars.
87 Christians have been confirmed with a call to follow church norms as Bishop starts his pastoral visit of the diocese.
