KANUNGU FM MANAGER ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING FEMALE PRESENTER.

Police in Kanungu District have today arrested the Kanungu FM manager for assaulting a female presenter at the station and seriously injuring her.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police spokesman identified the suspect as Nelson Twinamatsiko a station manager also a resident of Katate cell in Kanungu town council

He says police had finally received a complaint from 24-year-old Anita Tumuramye, who was battered by her 51-year-old manager Nelson Twinamatsiko, both residents of Katate cell in Kanungu town council.

According to the police spokesman, the incident happened last Thursday, January 26th at around 6Pm at the station.

The victim, Mrs Tumuramye was reportedly assaulted by the manager Twinamatsiko when she went to demand for her Shs. 40,000 commission from him.

Maate said that police officers upon receiving the complaint, visited the station and arrested the suspect and also took statements from staff.
