KANUNGU MAN HACKS WIFE TO DEATH, ATTEMPTS SUICIDE

Police in Kanungu are investigating circumstances under which a man hacked his wife to death and later attempted to commit suicide.

Reports from eye witnesses indicate that Nelson Byamukama, aresident of Omukikunyu Mashaku Nyamirama in Kanungu District yesterday evening used a machete to hack his wife several times in the head.

He later locked himself in his bedroom where residents found him dangling on a rope but on the verge of death.

On establishing that the two were barely breathing, they were rushed to Kambuga hospital where the wife passed on at around 10 PM while the husband is still receiving treatment.
