KANUNGU MOTORCYCLIST KNOCKED DEAD, DRIVER ON RUN

Police in Kanungu are hunting for a driver who allegedly ran after knocking dead a motorcyclist.
It is alleged that on 26th May 2020 at around 1100hrs at Butogota town near St.Andrews C.O.U, the driver who was driving motor vehicle reg no. UAW138B fuso fighter knocked Jereve Bahati who was riding on motor vehicle reg no. UDK183F senke black in colour.
According to police spokesperson Kigezi region Elly Mate ,the rider died on spot which prompted the driver to run into hiding.
Mate said that the body was taken to Kanungu health centre IV for postmortem.
He added that both motor vehicle & motor cycle are currently parked at Butogota police station pending for IOV inspection as inquiries to establish the cause continue.
