KANUNGU NURSING OFFICER ARRESTED FOR STEALING DRUGS

A senior nursing officer at Kanungu (Katate) health centre IV in Kanungu town council; Kwesiga Muteisa Hefa is now held at Kanungu central police station for allegedly being found in possession of government drugs.

Muteisa who has been working at the health centre since six years ago, was today caught by red-handed while hiding the government drugs and other health equipment under her bed.

The stolen drugs found under Kwesiga Muteisa Hefa’s bed.

She was taken to Kanungu central police station where she is being interrogated.

It is alleged that Muteisa who is also among the striking medics took it as an advantage to steal government drugs from the health facility.

One of criminal Investigations Department officers at Kanungu police station who preferred anonymity as he is not authorized to talk to media, told www.mknewslink.com that Muteisa will be taken to court and charged with theft.

According to Hillary Byamugisha; the Chairperson Management committee, Katate health centre IV, there has been similar cases of drugs theft over many years and this nursing officer being the prime suspect.
