KARYEIJA VOWS TO RETAKE HIS MITOOMA LC5 SEAT

The embattled Mitooma district chairman; Benon Karyeija who was on Monday impeached by his councilors for abuse of office has vowed to bounce back to his office by all possible means.
Talking to www.mknewslink.com on mobile phone yesterday, Karyeija who was attending a meeting in Kampala warned his councilors not to celebrate his censure because he has several possible means of taking back his seat.
The tribunal’s report which was delivered on Monday by Bushenyi chief magistrate Moses Angwaria convicted Karyeija on three counts of office abuse.
He was implicated on selling marrum at Rukukuuru prison land without using the district procurement unit, using a personal driver who was not appointed by the district service commission and abusing the district councilors on radios.
Basing on the report, the councilors moved a motion to censure Karyeija which was supported by 20 of them out 21.
Electoral commission will announce the Mitooma district chairman’s seat vacant and organize flesh election.
However, Karyeija is eligible to contest for the seat again through the flesh election.
