KARYEIJA, WILLIS BASHASHA, BUKOMOOKO COMPETE FOR HEAD OF LAITY IN WEST ANKOLE DIOCESE

Four people have so far joined the race to compete for the position of head of laity in West Ankole Diocese to replace Prof. Emmanuel Karooro whose office tenure has expired.
The four candidates include the former Mitooma district chairman;Benon Karyeija, Willis Bashasha also the former Bushenyi
district chairman,Can.Ephraim Bamugyendera and David Bukomooko.
Sheema district has not nominated any candidate for the same post, a decision that leaves many questions without answers.
When contacted, Prof.Elijah Mushemeza; who was expected to join the race said he is not going to participate in the competition as he is busy doing his work at Ankole Western University in Kabwohe.
Dr.Eliod Tumwesigye also who was expected to participate, has not yet indicated his side.
The position of head of laity is very cardinal as far as running the diocese is concerned.
Prof. Karooro has been the head of laity in West Ankole diocese for eight years.
The synod meeting will sit on Friday of March 23,2018 to conduct voting and handle other businesses.
