KASESE BISHOP RALLIES PARENTS ON NURTURING CHILDREN
By Isaac Mumbere
KASESE.
The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kasese, the Rt. Rev. Francis Acquirinus Kibira has encouraged parents to fully take up their responsibilities of nurturing their children, adding that they are the only teachers that their young ones can listen to.
The Bishop sounded the remarks yesterday while officiating at the ordination ceremony of three Deacons who entered the order of Priesthood and five Seminarians who were also ordained Deacons at a colorful function that was held at St. John’s the Evangelist Minor Seminary- Kiburara in Kisinga Sub-county.
The prelate noted that it was the role of the parents to nurture their children in a manner that would make them become responsible citizens. This, according to him, requires that parents make their children’s education a priority.
He used the same platform to appeal to the general public to help him in the process of soliciting funds meant to pay school fees of the 10 boys and one girl who survived the ADF rebel attack on Mpondwe- Lhubiriha Secondary School last year.
The said students are currently studying at Kasese Secondary School in Kasese town. The Man of God also observed the need for everyone to keep comforting and counseling the survivors since they are still traumatized.
He warned the parents against the practice of getting involved in cases related to domestic violence in the presence of their children.
