KASESE DISTRICT CHAIRMAN ATTACKS MP KATUSABE
By Isaac Mumbere
in Bwera Kasese—–
The Kasese District Chairperson, Mr. Eliphaz Muhindi Bukombi has lashed at some opposition politicians in Bukonzo County West for allegedly resorting to telling lies indicating that the government has done nothing in terms of road development in the area.
Mr. Muhindi, sounded the remarks yesterday while addressing the mourners who had thronged Kasanga Village in Bwera Sub-county for the send off of Eriab Kabwe, the area L. C I Chairperson.
Muhindi said he was wondering why some politicians whose names have been withheld from the press were telling the electorate that the government has not done a lot when it comes to the construction of roads in the constituency and yet some of them are members of the District Road Committee that allocates the road fund.
The District Boss stressed that the people of Kasese should instead of being fed on lies appreciate the efforts of government towards implementing many projects including a shillings 8.4 billion 8.7 kilometer Katholhu – Kayanja tarmac road, four bridges in Greater Kisinga Sub-county and roads in Kinyamaseke Town Council among others.
Now, Muhindi lectured the mourners that the work of a Member of Parliament was to lobby for his people, arguing that after failure to fulfill his mandate, Hon. Katusabe resorts to speaking defamatory statements and propaganda.
A section of residents from Bwera Sub-county tried to disapprove the legislator’s remarks, arguing that he should always approach relevant offices in case of a gap in service delivery.
The residents instead hailed the government for extending her pro-people development projects in the area.
They, however, observed the need for the extension of safe and clean drinking water to them.
However, www.mknewslink.com news website did not independently verify the residents’ allegations against their legislator and efforts to get a comment from him were futile by press time
