KASESE MUSLIM COMMUNITY THREATENS TO SHUN 2026 POLLS OVER NEGLECT BY LEADERS

KASESE
The Muslim Community in Kasese district has threatened not to participate in the forthcoming 2026 General Elections unless the current leaders advocate for them to benefit from the government services.
They sounded the remarks today afternoon during the closure of a one day workshop for the women leaders (AMIRAT) that was held at Kisanga Main Mosque in Kasese town.
Mr. Fauza Mbusa Kihuta, the Secretary for Religious Affairs at the Office of the District Khadhi, noted that the Muslim Community is always sidelined when it comes to service delivery.
According to him, none of the leaders has advocated for their leaders to be given vehicles by the government like any other religions, hence a need to shun the elections.
He also stressed that the Kikorongo – Mpondwe road that is in a poor state is a clear manifestation that the leaders are not doing much in terms of advocacy.
Mr. Naswibu Musenene, the Kasese District Secretary for the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council contended with Mr. Mbusa assertions, adding that they were disappointed with the leaders for not participating in their activities and lobbying for them.
He, however, appealed to the Muslim Community to be united and become role models through maintaining their discipline and doing away with discrimination.
