KASESE: PUPIL FALLS, DIES IN SCHOOL SEPTIC TANK

Police in Kasese are investigating circumstances under which a 5 year old pupil at Margerita Demonstration nursery and primary School fell and died in a school septic tank.

The pupil who has been identified as Gift Muhindo Katrin a daughter to Rose Kyakimwa of Kisanga A ward Kizungu village in Nyamwamba division was in middle class.

According to the councilor representing Kisanga ward Hon. Lusenge Thembo, the pupil fell into a septic tank which was in the school premises when she followed a cleaner who went to hung clothes.

Lusenge Thembo called upon teachers to take good care of the pupils and regularly check the missing ones to avoid a repeat of the same incident.

Speaking to the deputy RPC Rwenzori East Fred Wakadubi ,he confirmed that they were called from Margherita demonstration nursery and primary school after the school realized a child was missing.

He added that the police intervened and immediately retrieved the child dead then the body was taken to Municipal council health centre.

Fred added that investigations are still going on adding that if they find that the school is guilty, an arrest will take effect immediately.

He therefore appealed to all institutions with holes of the kind to make sure they are covered or fenced to avoid occurrences of the same kind.
