KAZO DISTRICT PUT UNDER LIVESTOCK QUARANTINE AFTER OUTBREAK OF FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE

Authorities in Kazo Sub County and Kazo town council in Kazo district have imposed livestock quarantine following the outbreak of Foot and mouth Disease in the area.
This was revealed by the district veterinary officer Dr. Ronald Kiyemba together with Security officers in a special meeting held at district council hall.
The meeting was aimed at laying some strategies and solutions over the mass spread of disease.
According to Dr. Kiyemba, there will be no more transportation of livestock and its products as checkpoints have been mounted.
He asked the farmers in the affected areas and other parts of Kazo district to follow rules and regulations to fight the disease, noting that the law breakers will be taken to the courts of law.
