KENYA NATIONAL DIES IN KABALE ACCIDENT, 5 CRITICALLY NJURED

One person has died on spot and other five critically injured in a fatal accident that involved a modern coast bus and a trailer at Kyonyo trading centre along Kabale-Katuna road in Kabale district.
The deceased has been identified as Samson Onyango Agutu aged 24, a turn man of the trailer, while the injured are a bus driver David Nyaga, a bus conductor Eridoni Mageto aged 24, and Peter Omboga (60) all Kenyan Nationals, Phionah Kamikaz (28) and Hamina Jasibu aged 24 both of Kagarama in Kigali Rwanda, and a yet to be known number of passengers got minor injuries.
The accident occurred today morning at around 05:30 pm while at Kyonyo along Kabale-Katuna road at the exact point where the road cracked of recently. It happened as the modern coast bus registration number UBA 067 Y that was coming from Kenya to Kigali, collided with a trailer registration number T467BFX /T714 ATW M / Benz which was from Katuna to Kampala.
The Kigezi Police Spokesperson Elly Maate says that police was notified immediately and rushed the injured to Kabale referral hospital for treatment while and the deceased’s body was taken to the same hospital mortally.
Maate adds that the cause of accident is likely to be resulted from a fog. The case has been registered at Kabale Central police station under reference number TAR 33/2018 as investigations continue.
