Kibaale district local government is yet to receive authorization and guidance from the ministry of education and sports through the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) to enable them to sub contract the remaining construction works at Nyamarwa Seed Secondary School in Kibaale district.
Early June this year, Dorothy Ajwang, the former Chief Administrative Officer Kibaale reported an abandonment of work by KWIK Build Contractors and Engineering LTD who were supposed to rectify shoddy works and complete the final works on the mult-million Nyamarwa seed school project.
It’s now four month beyond a one month ultimatum that Dr. Emily Kugonza, the Buyanja East constituency who had represented Finance Minister Matia Kasaija as the chief guest cancelled the project from being commissioned on grounds the contractors to rectify the available defects to enable the project to be commissioned.
The project was constructed at a tune of over 1.8 billion shillings lobbied by Finance Minister Matia Kasaija from Government through the Ministry of Education and Sport and the contract was undertaken by KWIK Build Contractors and Engineering LTD.
John Katotoroma, the Kibaale Chief Administrative Officer yesterday told us that the district is waiting for guidance and authorization from the ministry of education and sports through the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) to enable them sub contract the remaining works using the remaining balance of 5% of the total tune of 1.8 billion shillings.
