KIGEZI ENDORSES GEN. MUNTU FOR FDC PRESIDENT

IN KABALE—
The Forum for Democratic Change-FDC delegates in Kigezi region have
endorsed Maj. Gen Gregory Mugisha Muntu as the Party’s President in
the forthcoming party elections.
The FDC delegates endorsed Muntu yesterday during meeting that was held at
Kirigime guest house in Kabale municipality.
Muntu is seeking re-election as party president after serving his
first term as president since 2012. He is tussling it out with, Kawempe
South MP Mubarak Munyagwa, Patrick Amuriat, Moses Byamugisha, Moses
Bakubi Bakubira, and Malcom Matsiko.
Led by all district Chairpersons, the delegates said that the party
can’t prosper without Muntu at the helm.
According to Rubanda district FDC Chairman Dominic Nagyenda said they
unanimously resolved that Muntu is best candidate for the party. He
said that Gen Muntu has helped in promoting good governance,
democracy, among others.
The Rukiga district FDC Chairman Medard Ensinikweri and the Kanungu
district FDC Chairperson Julius Tukamushaba said that all delegates
decided to support Muntu for promoting unity and also building party
structures.
The Ntungamo municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Gerald Karuhanga
said that they decided to support Muntu for fighting against
corruption within the party. He also accounts well for party funds.
Addressing the delegates, Maj Gen Muntu asked the delegates to promote
unity within the party. He also re-echoed the need to build the party
structures saying that it would help to strengthen the party
